Lawn Manor Academy offers extensive careers advice for all pupils. Andrea Cook our Careers Advisor is available for all pupils during the school week to help guide pupils through options, next steps, post 16 choices, apprenticeships and to provide further advice on further/higher education and training. Every year we hold a Careers Fair at the School as part of our futures day where information and advice about jobs, further and higher education can be obtained. All the local colleges and sixth forms attend, along with Universities and local business offering Apprenticeships. We have developed good relations with the local employers who support us with our mock interview day in Year 11 and our work experience in Year 10. Our local colleges are available to provide information and advice on our parent’s evening. We have a comprehensive careers programme which starts when the pupils arrive in Year 7 until they leave us in Year 11.

EARN AS YOU LEARN – 27th February 2019
On Thursday, 14th February, we took 30 Year 11 pupils along to STEAM at the Designer Outlet to visit JOBFEST 2019. This was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to speak to Swindon employers who are all offering apprenticeships and employment opportunities to young people and jobseekers in the area. Some of the companies’ attending were BMW, Catalent, First City Nursing, Nationwide, Swindon Marriot and Wiltshire Police to name but a few.
Apprenticeships offer young people a different way of learning and are usually linked in with the colleges. Visit our webpage for more information about apprenticeships and what they have to offer.
